When using Astrology Angel Magick, or Demon Magick of the Goetia, it's important to understand how the Sun and the Moon affect one another. Consider that the Sun and the Moon are the origins of the name of Solomon, because of Sol and the Moon. A New Moon has the same astrological placement as the Sun, in that both will be in the same zodiac sign. Therefore, if you use the receptive New Moon for the Night Angel or Night Demon, and the projective sunlight for the Day Angel or Day Demon, the power of the Magick ritual becomes very strong. You might notice that the New Moon is not hyped with the same vehemence as is the Full Moon, because the Sun is in a different zodiac sign in relation to a Full Moon and may not be as easy or compatible to use for magical purposes. By keeping the potency of the New Moon a secret, or to simply play it down, affords great power to those in the know. The astrological correspondences are there whether the magician knows it or not. The Night Angel or Night Demon of the same zodiac sign will activate the Day Angel or the Day Demon with a powerful drawing-in sort of force because of the irresistible attracting force of the New Moon. During a Full Moon, the Sun will be in a different sign and the Full Moon will act to reflect sunlight in cooperation with whichever zodiac sign in which the Full Moon finds placement, and also will be reflecting the sunlight of whatever zodiac sign the Sun finds placement during the Full Moon.
You can see nevertheless, how the New Moon is considered to be very powerful, in that during the New Moon, the Sun and Moon share the same zodiac sign, as well as the Sun being drawn in by the New Moon and radiating its light into the intense attractive concealment and subsequent darkness of the New Moon.
